Privacy policy

Stagelight is a Shopify app that makes new product images and short videos from the product photos a store already has. This policy explains what information the app collects, what it is used for, who processes it, and how long it is kept.
Stagelight is operated by Murat Ozturk, an individual developer. Questions about this policy or about your data can be sent to stagelighthq@gmail.com.
Information collected through Shopify
When you install Stagelight, Shopify gives the app access to your store. The app uses it to read and store:
- your store's Shopify domain, and the access token Shopify issues so the app can act for your store;
- product information: title, handle, status, vendor, product type, description, tags, category, options and product media, including your product photos;
- your Stagelight subscription plan and billing period, as recorded by Shopify.
The only permission the app asks for is to read and write products. It does not access your customers, orders, payments or staff accounts.
Information the app creates
- a reading of each product photo you generate from, describing what is visible in it (such as the product's shape, surface, parts and any legible text), used to keep the product as it is;
- a record of each generation: the product, the kind of output and scene chosen, its status and the credits used;
- the images and videos generated for you;
- whether you added a result to a product.
Information collected from you directly
The app has no forms and no separate account. If you email us for support, we keep your message and email address to answer it.
Information about your customers
Stagelight collects no information about your customers. It adds nothing to your storefront: no scripts, cookies or tracking. The only thing that reaches your storefront is media you choose to add to a product, which then lives in your Shopify store like any other product photo or video.
How the information is used
Only to provide the app: to read your product photos, generate the results you ask for, show them to you, add the ones you choose to your products, and count credits against your plan. The information is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used by us to train models.
Service providers
Stagelight relies on these providers to run:
- Railway hosts the app and its database, in its EU West region (Amsterdam, the Netherlands).
- Cloudflare R2 stores the generated images and videos. Each file is served from a long, unlisted address so it can be shown in the app and copied into Shopify; anyone who has that exact address can open the file.
- Replicate runs the AI models. Your product photo and the generation settings are sent to it for each generation. Replicate removes the inputs and outputs of API requests after one hour by default. Through Replicate, requests are processed by the providers of the models used: Bria (catalogue and scene images), OpenAI (new-angle images), xAI (video) and Google (reading the product photo).
- Shopify provides your store data and handles billing for your subscription.
Where the information is processed
Stagelight is not established in the European Union. The app and its database run in the Netherlands. Generation requests are processed in the United States by Replicate and the model providers listed above, and generated files are served through Cloudflare's global network.
How long the information is kept
- While the app is installed, generation records, photo readings and generated files are kept so you can return to them.
- When you uninstall, the app deletes your store's access token straight away.
- About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks the app to erase your store's data. The app then deletes every generated file it stored, your generation records, photo readings and billing record.
- Copies held by Replicate for a generation are removed after one hour by default.
- Media you added to your products stays in your Shopify store. It belongs to you, and uninstalling Stagelight does not remove it.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to answer them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for a copy of the information held about your store, or for it to be deleted before you uninstall, by writing to stagelighthq@gmail.com. Depending on where you are, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we will help you exercise them.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects or how it is used changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
